The Board of Directors received almost four dozen appilcations for the club manager/PGA Professional position.  After reviewing each resume, seven candidates were interviewed to determine who best fit the needs of our golf club.  Any of the individuals who met with the Board would have been an asset to the club and the final decision was not easy due to the outstanding personal qualities of all those interviewed.

Greg Snow was the top choice and fortunately, he agreed to take the position and signed a two-year contract.  Greg was the Head Golf Professional at Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge near Brainerd.  He has worked at that resort since 2001 and before that spent two seasons at Cragun's.  While he thoroughly enjoyed his job at Ruttger's, Greg and his wife Leigh Ann were looking to relocate to a smaller town where they could become more involved in the community.  When Greg saw the OGC position posted on the PGA Career Links website, he felt his abilities and background matched what our Board was looking for.

Greg was born in Silver Bay, moved to St. Francis and graduated from high school there.  Shortly after earning his college degree in 1997, Greg began working in the golf industry and completed the necessary steps to earn his Class A PGA Professional status.  Greg and Leigh Ann have four children:  Ryan - 11, Makayla - 9, Leslie - 6 and Kyliegh - 16 months.  Greg also enjoys basketball - helping with Ryan's elementary program and officiating high school games.  Leigh Ann was one of the assistant volleyball coaches at Brainerd High School - as she was an All-American in college.

Greg starts on March 15th.  He has an outgoing personality, loves working with people and is a big family man.  Everyone will enjoy meeting Greg - he will be our first PGA pro since Woody Woodstrom left in 2000.  Working at resorts for the past twelve years, it has helped him see the lasting impact of customer service and how important it is to the success of a golf club.  Be sure to stop by and introduce yourself soon and welcome him to our communities and our golf club!
